The Ripple Effect

A small pebble thrown into a pond creates beautiful ripples that often come back to us. These ripples can go to unknown lengths which are undefined. To me kindness is like this little pebble; a little act that can create wonders.

I find kindness so precious that it remains unmeasurable and any act of it whether big or small remains valuable. Here I’ll be sharing a few little acts of kindness from my daily life.

1.Even nature gives up sometimes

Lonely and barren in the midst of life.

I was making my way back along my usual path at my university when I came across this barren tree in the middle of green ones. It reminded me of isolation and made me feel bad for the tree. I immediately took out my water bottle and poured the water into it’s roots. The water might not be enough for the whole tree but even a single drop matters to the thirsty.

2. Keeping an open eye

While I was travelling back home I saw a family of four riding a motorcycle with the mother’s dupatta dangling dangerously. Every year many road accidents are linked to women with loose dresses and dupattas riding motorcycles without precaution. I rolled down my window and shouted out loud to make the female aware of the issue to which she responded to positively and said, “ Shukriya beta!”

3. Being a guide

Paths that lead to unknown destinations

My university’s new semester for first years commenced yesterday and I found many freshmen students looking scared and confused. Apparently they had been warned about ragging and stood in places looking like lost souls. Remembering the time I entered university as a first year, I decided to guide them to their respective departments and felt really positive the entire day in doing so.

4. You grow by sharing

Just placed some books in my department’s book zone where you drop a book and pick one up. Have always been reluctant about sharing books but I’m gong to take this opportunity to grow out of it. Really excited about the one I get to read!

5. Actions speak louder always!

Just sugar and chocolate being icebreakers

Yesterday I had this really petty quarrel with my little sister and we both stopped talking afterwards. Being the older one I realized the consequences of my actions and wondered if the thing we were fighting about was more important than my sister and the countless stories I shared with her everyday. I found it really hard to apologize but decided to bake her favorite biscuits which immediately cleared the air and got her smiling. :)

By now most of you would have already realized that it’s your intention and action that matters and it eventually does come back to you either in the form of happiness, success, blessings or even just a smile.
